Terms for Nyans

Who we are

Nyans is made by David HJ Lindberg AB, a company in Sweden (“we”). You can reach us at david@nakaya.world.

Trying Nyans

Nyans is free to try for 7 days from the first time it opens, in each browser and in each editor. During the trial every feature works. After it, Nyans still opens frames and composes and shows looks, but exporting LUTs, stills and clips, and applying looks in an editor, need a licence. Looks you applied during the trial stay on your clips.

Buying a licence

A licence costs €59 once, VAT included. There is no subscription. Orders are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record: Lemon Squeezy takes the payment, charges the right VAT for your country, sends your receipt, and its buyer terms apply to the payment. Your licence key is in the receipt e-mail.

What the licence lets you do

• Use Nyans yourself on up to two computers you use, Mac or PC, in the browser and in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve Studio and Final Cut Pro.
• Use every Nyans 1.x version, including the updates we release for it, at no extra cost.
• Use what you make with Nyans, the looks, LUTs, stills and clips, in any work, commercial work included. What you make is yours.

The licence is personal: each person who uses Nyans needs their own. Please don’t share, publish or resell your key. You may not copy, sell or share Nyans itself, or decompile or modify it, except where the law allows you to.

The licence check

When you add a key, Nyans checks it with Lemon Squeezy’s licence service, and checks it again about once a week when you are online. In between, Nyans works offline. A key that has been refunded, or that is used on more installs than its limit, stops unlocking Nyans. To move to another computer, remove the key in Nyans on the old one first: open the licence and choose Remove from this computer.

Refunds

If Nyans is not for you, write to david@nakaya.world within 14 days of buying and we refund you in full through Lemon Squeezy. Your key is switched off when the refund goes through. This comes on top of your rights under consumer law and does not limit them.

Your images

Nyans works on your images and clips on your own computer. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. The privacy policy says what does leave your computer.

Support and updates

We answer questions by e-mail. Updates to Nyans 1.x are free: download the latest version at davidhjalmarlindberg.com/nyans. A later Nyans 2 may be sold on its own; your licence keeps working with every 1.x version.

Warranty and liability

We make Nyans with care and fix the faults we learn about, but we cannot promise that it is free of errors or right for every job, so check your grades before you deliver them. Unless the law says otherwise, we are not liable for indirect loss, such as lost profit or lost work, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for your licence. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer, or a liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. A change applies to licences bought after it is published here. Swedish law applies to these terms; if you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection the law of your own country gives you.
